Creating a Trapunto-style Quilt Pattern

1. Touch [IQ Designer], then touch .

   

2. Select a trapunto-style quilt design stamp. Touch [OK].

   

3. Edit the pattern, then touch [Next].

   Touch to change the size of the pattern as needed.

   Keep the default stitch settings (line: [Running stitch], fill: [No stitches]).

4. Touch [Set].

   

5. When a message appears, touch [OK].

   • The Embroidery Edit screen is displayed.

6. Touch [Edit], then touch .

   

7. In this example, to extract the inner lines of the pattern, turn [Inside] on. Touch , then touch [OK] to send the outline of the pattern to [IQ Designer].

   

8. Touch [Add], then touch [IQ Designer].

   
   
   

9. Touch and touch , then select the saved outline. Touch [OK].

   

10. Touch , then add a shape for the decorative pattern frame. Change the frame size and [Line] settings as needed.

    Place a frame that fits within the embroidering area, including the basting that will be added later on the Embroidery screen.

11. Add the decorative pattern. In this example, stippling is added. Touch [Next].

    

12. Change the stitch settings if necessary. In this example, change [Run Pitch] and [Spacing].

    
    • For a more pronounced Trapunto effect:
      • When using a stippling background, decrease the [Spacing] setting and also decrease the [Run Pitch] setting accordingly.
      • When using a decorative fill background, decrease the [Size] setting.
    • If you touch , all areas with the same stitch type are selected, allowing you to change the stitch settings at the same time.

13. Touch [Set] and then touch [OK].

    • The Embroidery Edit screen appears. The trapunto-style pattern and decorative pattern are now combined.
