A size 65/9 needle is being used.

• The needle is incompatible with the needle threader. Manually pass the thread through the eye of the needle.

Cannot lower the presser foot with the presser foot lever.

Presser foot was raised using (Presser foot lifter button).

• Press (Presser foot lifter button) to lower the presser foot.

Bobbin thread does not wind neatly on the bobbin.

The thread is not passed through the bobbin winding thread guide correctly.

Bobbin spins slowly.

The thread that was pulled out was not wound onto the bobbin correctly.

The empty bobbin was not set on the pin properly.

While winding the bobbin, the bobbin thread was wound below the bobbin winder seat.

Remove any entangled thread, and then wind the bobbin.

The bobbin thread cannot be pulled up.

Needle is turned, bent or the point is dull.

Bobbin is set incorrectly.

Machine does not operate.

All keys and buttons have been locked by (Presser foot/Needle exchange key).

Nothing appears in the LCD.

• Save your project if you may not operate the machine for a certain period of time.

Embroidery unit does not operate.

Embroidery unit is not attached correctly.

Embroidery frame was attached before the unit was initialized.

Pointer of the embroidery foot “UH+” with LED pointer does not indicate the position correctly.

With thick elastic fabric, the position will be misaligned only at raised parts in the fabric.

With fabric having a very uneven surface, the position is not correctly aligned.

• The pointer indication should be used only as a reference.

Machine cannot connect to the wireless network.

You are connecting to 5 GHz network frequency band.

• This machine only supports 2.4 GHz network frequency band.

The wireless network setting is not activated.

The security information (SSID/password (network key)/authentication method) is incorrect.

• Reconfirm the SSID and security information and re-enter the correct information as necessary.

The wireless access point/router cannot be detected.

• Make sure that the wireless access point/router is powered on.
• Move your machine to an area where no items can obstruct the wireless network signal, such as metal doors or walls, or closer to the wireless access point/router.
• Temporarily place your machine within about 1 m (3.3 feet) from the wireless access point when you are configuring the wireless settings.
• If your wireless access point/router is using MAC address filtering, confirm the MAC address of this machine is allowed in the filter.

This machine does not support the authentication or encryption method used by the wireless access point/router.

Machine does not operate.

“Start/Stop” button was not pressed.

There is no stitch pattern selected.

There is no embroidery pattern selected.

Selecting Patterns

Presser foot is not lowered.

“Start/Stop” button was pressed with the foot controller attached.

The “Start/Stop” button was pressed while the machine is set for the sewing speed controller to control the zigzag stitch width.

The bobbin winder shaft is pushed to the right.

Needle breaks.

Dust or lint is caught in the feed dogs.

There are needle holes or friction scratches in the bobbin case.

Fabric does not feed through the machine.

Feed dogs are set in the down position.

• Touch , and then turn the handwheel to raise the feed dogs.

Stitches are too close together.

Wrong presser foot was used.

Needle is turned, bent or the point is dull.

Thread is entangled.

Zigzag foot “J” is slanted on a thick seam at the beginning of stitching.

The fabric feeds in the opposite direction.

The feed mechanism is damaged.

The needle contacts the needle plate.

The needle clamp screw is loose.

Needle is turned, bent or the point is dull.

Fabric being sewn with the machine cannot be removed.

Thread is tangled below the needle plate.

A broken needle has fallen into the machine.

Turn off the machine, and then remove the needle plate. If the needle that fell into the machine can be seen, use tweezers to remove it. After removing the needle, return the needle plate to its original position.
Before turning on the machine, slowly turn the handwheel toward you to check that it turns smoothly. If the handwheel does not turn smoothly or the needle that fell into the machine cannot be removed, consult your authorized Baby Lock retailer.

The handwheel feels sluggish when it is turned.

Thread is tangled in the bobbin case.

Thread tension is incorrect.

Upper threading is incorrect.

Bobbin is set incorrectly.

Using improper needle or thread for the selected fabric. Using improper needle, thread or the fabric prepared insufficiently for embroidering.

Presser foot holder is not attached correctly.

Fabric was pulled, pushed or fed at an angle while it was being sewn.

• Sew while guiding the fabric with your hands so that the fabric is fed in a straight line.

The thread is tangled, for example, in the bobbin case.

The pattern is not embroidered correctly.

Thread is twisted.

Thread tension is set incorrectly.

Fabric was not inserted into the frame correctly (fabric was loose, etc.).

Stabilizing material was not attached.

• Always use stabilizing material, especially with stretch fabrics, lightweight fabrics, fabrics with a coarse weave, or fabrics that often cause pattern shrinkage. See your authorized Baby Lock retailer for the proper stabilizer.

There was an object placed near the machine, and the carriage or embroidery frame hit the object during embroidering.

Fabric outside the frame edges interferes with the arm, so the embroidery unit cannot move.

• Reinsert the fabric in the embroidery frame so that the excess fabric is away from the arm, and rotate the pattern 180 degrees.

Fabric is too heavy, so the embroidery unit cannot move freely.

• Place a large thick book or similar object under the arm head to lightly lift the heavy side and keep it level.

Fabric is hanging off the table.

• If the fabric is hanging off the table during embroidery, the embroidery unit will not move freely. Place the fabric so that it does not hang off the table or hold the fabric to keep it from dragging.

Fabric is snagged or caught on something.

• Stop the machine and place the fabric so that it does not get caught or snagged.

Embroidery frame was removed during embroidering (for example, to reset the bobbin). The presser foot was bumped or moved while removing or attaching the embroidery frame, or the embroidery unit was moved.

Stabilizer is incorrectly attached, for example, it is smaller than the embroidery frame.

Loops appear on the surface of the fabric when embroidering.

The thread tension is incorrectly set.

The tension of the upper thread is incorrectly set for the combination of the fabric, thread and pattern being used.

• Use the embroidery needle plate cover.

The combination of the bobbin case and bobbin thread is incorrect.
